Micropterix aureatella (Scopoli, 1763)

Wingspan: 8-11mm

A diurnal, univoltine species recorded from all woodland sites and those on upland acid soils. It has been recorded at light on several occasions at Las Descargues and by sweeping from all sampled sites, it is on the wing throughout the late spring and early summer. The moth feeds on the pollen of various herbaceous plants and Carex spp.

Larvae are undescribed.
