Agriopis aurantiaria (Hübner, 1799)

Scarce Umber
Hibernie orangée

Wingspan: male - 40-44mm female - wingless

A univoltine species on the wing from October to December when the male is attracted to light, the female can be located on tree trunks in the early morning.
Recorded at Las Descargues and all broadleaved woodland sites.

The larva feeds on various broadleaved trees and shrubs in spring after overwintering as an egg on the foodplant.
