Dyseriocrania subpurpurella (Haworth, 1828)

Wingspan: 9-14mm

A univoltine species on the wing from early April to late May when it is frequently attracted to light and has been recorded from all oak woodland traps and those at Las Descargues. A species of oak woodland throughout.

Eggs are laid in oak leaf buds, a blotch mine forms on the margins of the leaf and pupation takes place in the soil beneath the tree.
