Phyllonorycter coryli (Nicelli, 1851)

Nut Leaf Blister Moth

Wingspan: 7-8.5mm

A bivoltine species on the wing in April and May and again in August to mid-September. An occasional visitor to light it has been recorded from all the Las Descargues garden traps and those in habitats where hazel is found.

The larva feed in mines on Corylus avellana, mines are formed on the upper-side of the leaf in an eliptical or circular whitish blotch where frass is visible, Pupation takes place at one end of the mine in a silk-lined chamber.
