Wingspan: 18-24mm

A bivoltine species this far south, on the wing from April to June and again in August when it is attracted to light often in high numbers. Recorded from Las Descargues and from all traps in adjacent coniferous woodland.

Larva feeds on Picea abies, Abies alba and various other coniferous species. Overwinter as a pupa just below ground level.
