Aporophyla australis (Boisduval, 1829)

Feathered Brindle

Wingspan: 30-36mm

A univoltine, Mediterranean-Asiatic species on the wing from July to September when it occasionally visits light. Recorded from mv lights at Las Descargues just three times in the last nine years. A species of dry, grassland and dune systems.

The larva feeds on various plants and grasses, overwintering as a larva before pupating under moss or just below ground level in light soil.
