Idaea ostrinaria (Hübner, 1813)

Coral-brodered Wave
Acidalie purpurine

Wingspan: 15-20mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to July. A predominantly Mediterranean moth with just a single appearance here at Las Descargues when it was attracted to the lower garden mv trap. A species of dry, fallow and waste land.

The larvae feed on various herbaceous plants, Thymus, Calluna etc.
