Hypsopygia costalis (Fabricius, 1775)

Gold Triangle

Wingspan: 14-22mm

A bivoltine species flying from May to October when it is a common visitor at light and occasionally sugar. A synanthropic species although it is also found frequently along woodland margins here at Las Descargues.

Larvae feed on vegetable detritus and have also been recorded from squirrels' dreys.
