Blastobasis adustella Walsingham, 1894

Wingspan: 15-20mm

An adventive univoltine species on the wing from July to September when it infrequently visits the mv lights at Las Descargues. The specimens, both male and female were the first of the species recorded in France when they were removed from the lower garden trap at Las Descargues in July 2007. Since then other specimens have been taken although the species is far from common.

The larvae feed on decaying vegetable matter.
