Calamotropha paludella (Hübner, 1814)

Wingspan: 23-29mm

A univoltine species on the wing in July and August when it is an occasional visitor to light. Recorded from Las Descargues way above its expected habitat at Ladirat and the Bave valley. A species of wetlands.

Larvae feed on Typha latifolia, T. angustifolia in a leaf mine where it hibernates feeding in spring on the dead leaf and stem.
