Grapholita janthinana (Duponchel, 1843)

Wingspan: 10-13mm

A univoltine species flying from May to August. It is primarily a crepuscular species but does appear at light and has been recorded at Las Descargues and the woodland margins of the gorge.

Larvae feed on the fruits of Crataegus, Prunus, Sorbus spinning the berries to feed, leaving the spinning to overwinter in a cocoon before pupating in spring.
