Lythria purpuraria (Linnaeus, 1758)

Rose-lined Saffron
Ensanglantée jaune

Wingspan: 22-26mm

A bivoltine, diurnal species flying in May and June and again in July and August. Recorded occasionally at Las Descargues but seen more frequently on the Causse. A species of sun-drenched, south-facing slopes, dry grassland and fallow land from the coast to 2,000m.

Larvae feed on Polygonum.
