Wingspan: 18-24mm

A bivoltine species of two successive generations flying from May to September when it is an occasional visitor to light. Recorded from Las Descargues and the Causse where its preferred habitats are heathland and the unmanaged meadows of the plateau.

Larvae feed on Calluna vulgaris, Artemisia campestris, Rumex, Thymus, Vicia, Lotus, Medicago etc. Overwinters as a small larva before pupating in plant detritus.
