Antitype chi (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 30-40mm

A univoltine species flying from August to November when it is occasionally recorded at light in the environs of Las Descargues but is more commonly seen around Latronquière and Sireyol some 150m higher than Las Descargues. A species of moorland and upland pasture.

Larvae feed on Melampyrum, Lactuca, Rumex etc. Overwinters as an egg with pupation taking place in a strong cocoon underground.
