Hamearis lucina (Linnaeus, 1758)

La Lucine

Wingspan: 30-36mm

A bivoltine species on the wing from April to June and again from July to September. A species of floristically-rich grass in scrub and woodland clearings. Not recorded from Las Descargues but is an occasional visitor to the Causse and Catus.

Larva feeds on the leaves of Primula vulgaris, P. veris, P. elatior and pupates overwinter.
