Eulithis testata (Linnaeus, 1758)

La Cidarie agate

Wingspan: 26-40mm

A univoltine species on the wing from late July to September when it is an occasional visitor to the lights at Las Descargues and from traps in the poplar plantations at Ladirat. A species of upland, rough grassland, moorland, heathland and the woodland margins of the ridge.

Larvae feed on Poplulus tremula, Salix, Betula etc., overwinters as an egg on the foodplant with pupation taking place after feeding between leaves on the foodplant.
