Abraxas grossulariata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 36-52mm

A univoltine species on the wing from June to early August. The larvae are seen frequently but the adults are scarce visitors to light at Las Descargues. A species of woodland and heathland in the Lot.

Larvae feed on various plants, Ribes, Prunus, Crataegus, Salix, Evonymus europaeus, etc., overwintering as a small larva with pupation taking place on the foodplant.
