Anania crocealis (Hübner, 1796)

Wingspan: 22-25mm

A univoltine species flying from early June to early September when it is an occasional visitor to lights at Las Descargues despite being situated some distance and indeed height above the nearest wetland areas.

Larvae feed on Pulicaria dysenterica, Inula conyza etc., hibernates overwinter as young larvae before pupating in a loose cocoons between or among the leaves of the foodplant.
