Dyspessa ulula (Borkhausen, 1790)

Garlic Mottled
Petite marbrure

Wingspan: male 18-28mm female 18-25mm

A univoltine species flying from April to July when it is a frequent visitor to light at any of the Causse sites. It has never been recorded at Las Descargues. A species of garrigues and unmanaged meadows.

Larvae feed in February and March on the bulbs of various members of the Liliaceae family such as onion and garlic Allium flavum, Allium vienale etc.
