Brenthis hecate ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Twin-spot Fritillary
Le Nacré de la filipendule

Wingspan: 36-46mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to early August when it is frequently taken in the meadows of the Fournanty Plateau. A species of floristically-rich meadows, woodland margins and light scrub.

Larvae feed on Filipendula ulmaria.
