Grapholita funebrana (Treitschke, 1835)

Plum Fruit Moth

Wingspan: 10-14mm

A univoltine species flying in June and July when it is a scarce visitor to the lights at Las Descargues but was found to be abundant at pheromone traps set by Bo Wikstrom. A species of scrub, woodland margins and hedgerows.

Larvae feed on Prunus spinosa, P. domestica etc., with pupation taking place in the soil or in cracks in the bark of the foodplant.
