Plutella porrectella (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 14-18mm

A bivoltine species on the wing in late spring, April to the end of May and again in July and August. Although not uncommon in Europe generally, this species has only been recorded at Las Descargues once, a rather tatty specimen from the garden mv trap in late July 2011.

The larvae feed on Hesperis matronalis producing a large white cocoon on the underside of the leaves of the foodplant.
