Caryocolum tricolorella (Haworth, 1812)

Wingspan: 11-13mm

A univoltine species flying from June to the end of August when it is occasionally attracted to the lights at Las Descargues and those elsewhere on the plateau. A species of rough meadows, verges and woodland margins.

The larvae feed on Cerastium arvense, and Stellaria spp. first mining the leaves then between spun shoots of the foodplant.
