Esperia sulphurella (Fabricius, 1775)

Wingspan: 12-15mm

A univoltine species on the wing from April to late July when it can be found flying in early morning sunshine along woodland margins. Occasionally recorded at the lights of Las Descargues or from traps adjacent to where the foodplants are found.

Larvae feed on dry, dead wood of various shrubs and trees including gorse Ulex spp. Overwinters as a pupa.
