Idaea dilutaria (Hübner, 1799)

Silky Wave
L'Acidalie diluée

Wingspan: 16-22mm

A univoltine species of calcareous, south-facing meadows flying in June and July when it is an occasional visitor to light. Recorded from the Las Descargues mv traps and those on the Causse.

Larvae feed on the stem and withering leaves of the common rock-rose Helianthemum nummularium overwintering as partially grown larvae in sheltered low growth of the sward close to the foodplant before pupating in a cocoon on the ground.
