Tinagma ocnerostomella (Stainton, 1850)

Wingspan: 8-9mm

A univoltine species on the wing in June and July, often possible to disturb specimens from the foodplant but it also occasionally comes to light. A species only encountered here along roadside verges where the foodplant occurs and from the occasional individuals appearing at light. More often recorded from the Causse.

Larvae feed on the pith within the stem of Echium vulgare overwintering in a pre-pupal state before full pupation takes place in spring in a cocoon within the stem of the foodplant.
