A univoltine species on the wing from mid-June to the end of July when it is occasionally recorded at light. Specimens have been taken at Las Descargues but are more often seen in the oak woodlands of the Fournanty Plateau. A species of broadleaved woodland where its foodplants are present.

Larvae feed on Quercus and Castanea sativa with mines seen in late summer and early autumn before larvae overwinter in the mine.
