Monochroa tenebrella (Hübner, [1817])

Wingspan: 10-12mm

A univoltine species on the wing from June to early August usually flying in sunshine near its foodplant and it is then that it can be taken through sweeping although it does occasionally turn up at the mv lights of Las Descargues. A species of scrub, unmanaged meadows and heath.

Larvae feed on the roots of Rumex acetosella and overwintering where it feeds.
