Bembecia ichneumoniformis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Six-belted Clearwing

Wingspan: 18-26mm

A univoltine species on the wing from June to August when it is often found floating on the surface of the pool but is oddly yet to be lured to one of the pheromone traps. A species of limestone grassland and unmanaged, ungrazed meadows of the Plateau.

Larvae feed on Anthyllis, Lotus corniculatus etc.
