Caloptilia semifascia (Haworth, 1828)

Wingspan: 10-12mm

A univoltine species with an extended flight period throughout the summer from July to late-October and again after hibernation in Spring. A species of woodland margins, hedgerows and wherever its foodplant is found.

Larvae feed here solely on Acer campestre first forming a mine then an initial fold followed by a second producing a cone in the leaf in which it pupates.
