Phyllonorycter esperella (Goeze, 1783)

Wingspan: 7-9mm

A bivoltine species flying in May and early June and again in August into early September. Yet to be recorded as an adult at Las Descargues although mines are regularly found throughout the area.

Larvae feed in a papery blotch mine eventually producing a fold in the leaf of Carpinus betulus.
