Stigmella splendidissimella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855)

Wingspan: 4-5mm

Thought to be a bivoltine species on the wing in April and May and again in August. No adults recorded at Las Descargues but mines have been seen on the foodplant.

Eggs are laid on the upperside of the leaves of Rubus, larvae produce a sinuous mine with linear frass. Cocoon is olive green.
