Diplodoma laichartingella (Goeze, 1783)

Wingspan: 5-7mm

A univoltine species on the wing from late-May to the end of July. A scarce visitor to Las Descargues but more commonly encountered along the woodland margins of the ridge. A species of broadleaved woodland habitats.

Larvae feed on detritus, decaying wood, fungi and lichen, a case is formed low on trunks or fallen branches and is constructed of fragments of vegetation, dead insects, sand etc.
