Achroia grisella (Fabricius, 1794)

Lesser Wax Moth

Wingspan: 15-25mm

A plurivoltine species on the wing from early April to the end of October with 3 to 4 broods. A pest of bee hives and wasp nests, found around apiaries and in woodland and scrub habitats.

Larvae feed on old wax in hives and wasp nests.
