Argyresthia bonnetella (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 9-11mm

A univoltine species on the wing from May to mid-September when it is an occasional visitor to the lights at Las Descargues, albeit more frequently in the autumn. A species of meadows, hedgerows, woodland margins and scrub wherever its foodplant is found.

Larvae feed in a mine in terminal shoots of Crataegus monogyna after wintering in a spinning. Pupation takes place in spring in a cocoon on the ground.
