Prays ruficeps (Heinemann, 1854)

Wingspan: 12-15mm

Considered a possible bivoltine species species flying from May to October when it is a frequent visitor to the lights at Las Descargues along with its larger sister species fraxinella and like that species it is found in woodland, scrub and hedgerows.

Larvae feed on Fraxinus excelsior mining a leaf then progressing to the soft bark of newly formed twigs before moving to a spinning in summer.
