Idaea rubraria (Staudinger, 1901)

L'Acidalie ombrée

Wingspan: 21-26mm

A univoltine species flying from July to mid-September. A species of warm, dry habitats and although occasionally found in central Europe it is primarily a species of the south where it prefers temperate valleys up to 1,000m asl.

Reared larvae have been found to consume Taraxacum officinale in their early stages although later instars appear to prefer the withered leaves of Rubus and Convolvulus spp.
