Plagodis pulveraria (Linnaeus, 1758)

Wingspan: 36-42mm

A bivoltine species flying from April to July and again in August with occasional individuals straying into the early part of September. It is attracted to light and is frequently recorded from broadleaved woodland around Las Descargues, hazel plantations and also from grykes in the limestone pavement of the Causse.

Larvae feed on hazel, birch and hawthorn before overwintering as pupae underground.
