Paracolax tristalis (Fabricius, 1794)

Wingspan: 29-35mm

A univoltine species flying from June to the end of September. It is a frequent visitor to light and has been recorded from all traps at Las Descargues and those in or adjacent to broadleaved woodland where woodland margins are the preferred habitat.

Larvae feed on various trees and shrubs, oaks, hazel etc. Overwinters as an early instar larva and pupates on the ground amongst leaves.
