Opisthograptis luteolata (Linnaeus, 1758)

Brimstone Moth
La Citronnelle rouillée

Wingspan: 30-44mm

Imago: bivoltine: April to June and August to October. A frequent visitor to light but it has been found here that the highest numbers are found in vegetation in the immediate vicinity of the trap. A species various habitats, woodland, scrub, gardens and calcareous grassland.

Larvae overwinter after feeding on a variety of shrub and woody perennial species. Pupation takes place in plant detritus or in cracks in masonry.
