Epione repandaria (Hufnagel, 1767)

Bordered Beauty
L'Epione marginée

Wingspan: 28-35mm

Imago: bivoltine - June to July and September to October. Attracted to light in small numbers it has been recorded from all woodland sites. A species of damp woodland and adjacent habitats.

Larvae: recorded from sallow, poplar, alder and hazel. Overwinters as an egg before larval feeding begins in spring. Pupation takes place among leaves.
