Acronicta megacephala ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: 40-44mm

A bivoltine species flying from April to September when it is attracted to light, recorded from all sites although it appears more frequently in or near open woodland.

The larvae feed on black poplar and aspen overwintering as pupae often under loose bark on the foodplant.
