Monopis obviella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Wingspan: 10-13mm

A bivoltine species on the wing from May to October when it flies at dusk and is occasionally attracted to light, recorded from all sampling sites. A species of gardens, unmanaged and overgrown grassland, scrub and often barns.

Larvae feed on woollen materials, bird's nests, bird pellets, seeds and it has even been reported from a coal mine.
