Notodonta tritophus ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Three-humped Prominent
Le Dromedaire

Wingspan: 54-62mm

A bivoltine species with just a partial second generation in the south, May to June and again in August. An occasional visitor to light but only in upland woodland where it has been recorded from oak and birch woods and poplar plantations.

The larva feeds on aspen, poplar and oak before overwintering as a pupa underground.
