Scythropia crataegella (Linnaeus, 1767)

Hawthorn Moth

Wingspan: 11-15mm

Imago: univoltine - June - July. Attracted to light and has been recorded from woodland margins and gardens around Las Descargues but has only recently been recorded from the Causse. Mined leaves often found beneath foodplant in autumn.

Larva: feeds on Hawthorn Crataegus spp., blackthorn Prunus spinosa and Cotoneaster spp.
