Angerona prunaria (Linnaeus, 1758)

Orange Moth
La Phalène du noisetier

Wingspan: 42-56mm

Imago: univoltine - May - June. The male is most frequently taken at light, the female flies much later in the night and is rarely recorded. A species of deciduous woodland and heathland with the highest numbers taken at Las Descargues from the ridge woodland.

Larva: feeds on various trees and shrubs before overwintering as a partially grown larva.
