Brindled Beauty
La Phalène hérissée

Wingspan: 42-52mm

Imago: univoltine - March - June. The male frequents light more than the female but she can be found on tree trunks during the day. A species of woodland, hedgerows, scrub and gardens.

Larva: feeds on various broadleaved trees and shrubs before overwintering as a pupa.
