Watsonalla binaria (Hufnagel, 1767)

Wingspan: 18-30mm

A common bivoltine species flying from April to September when it is attracted to light and has been recorded from all woodland habitats often abundantly so.

Larvae feed on oak Quercus spp. and birch Betula spp. before overwintering as pupae in tough cocoons in tightly folded oak leaves.
