Mythimna impura (Hübner, 1808)

Smoky Wainscot
La Leucanie souillée

Wingspan: 31-38mm

Imago: bivoltine - May-June ; July-September. A scarce species with fewer than a dozen records from the various sites worked. It is attracted to light and sugar.

Larva: feeds on various grass species including wetland species. Overwinters as an early instar larva, pupation takes place underground.
