Hadena confusa (Hufnagel, 1766)

Marbled Coronet
La Noctuelle saupoudrée

Wingspan: 33-39mm

A univoltine species flying from May to July. An occasional visitor to light from traps on or bordering calcareous grassland. Recorded from the Las Descargues ridge and the Causse.

The larva feeds here on bladder campion before overwintering, sometimes twice, as a pupa underground.
